On November 8, 1900, the Egyptian-Jewish artist "Shalom" was born in Alexandria, and coexisted with difficult life conditions, like other young people, engaged in hard work to earn his living, until his life changed after his first meeting with director Togo Mizrahi, according to what was mentioned on the "Egypt Archives" website. ».
Director Togo Mizrahi was convinced of Shalom's artistic talent, and presented him to the cinema through the gate of the movie "The Abyss" shown in Alexandria in November 1930, whose name was changed to "Cocaine" when it was shown in Cairo.
Shalom spent 18 years as a movie star and hero in most of the works in which he participated, namely “5001”, “The Two Representatives”, “Al-Riyadi” and “Ezz Bahdala”.
His short artistic career not only smiled at him by playing starring roles, but also until he was the first artist in Egypt whose name is mentioned in the title of the artwork, and he participated in the movie “Shalom Al-Turjuman” in 1935, to precede the late Ismail Yassin in this regard.
In light of the good condition that Shalom experienced on the technical level, he was surprised by the distance around him from him until he became isolated from everyone, which he gained from the emergence of the Zionist entity on the land of Palestine, despite his hatred for this gathering that arose as a result of the Balfour Declaration in 1917
Not being aware of the differences between Zionism and Judaism, Shalom suffered in the last 11 years of his life, and did not appear in any cinematic work, until he died in silence.
The irony is that the date of Shalom's death is May 13, 1948, and a day later the Zionist entity announced the establishment of its state on the Palestinian territories.
