We always wonder where our child got his intelligence from. Who is the father or from the mother? .. A new study has settled that controversy.

She explained that the intelligence of children is determined by the mother's genes, because women have two X chromosomes compared to one in men.

The study suggested that the “adaptive genes” came from the mother in order to function in most cases. Noting that genes for advanced cognitive functions inherited from the father may be automatically turned off.

She pointed to laboratory experiments on mice, which resulted in the latter being injected with genes from the mother. This led to her obtaining small bodies but large brains, while the injection of genes from the father led to the opposite.

The researchers identified cells containing only the maternal or paternal genes in 6 different parts of the mice's brains that control different cognitive functions from eating habits to memory.

Cells with parental genes accumulate in parts of the limbic system, which are involved in functions such as sex, food, and aggression.

But the researchers found no parental cells in the cerebral cortex, where the most advanced cognitive functions, such as thinking, language and planning, occur.
