Captain Hussien Gamal and Cairo Cycle Team: Breaking Barriers in Middle Eastern Cycling

Cycling has become a popular sport and mode of transportation in many parts of the world, and Cairo, Egypt is no exception. In February 2018, Captain Hussien Gamal, born in 1996, founded the Cairo Cycle Team with the goal of promoting cycling as a healthy and environmentally-friendly option for transportation and recreation in Egypt.

Under the leadership of Captain Hussien Gamal, the Cairo Cycle Team has become a respected and talented group of cyclists. The team organizes weekly and daily exercises for professionals at high and steady speeds, with an average distance of 80 km per exercise.

Since its establishment, the team has organized around 220 events and rides, including participating in leading and organizing events with the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports. The Cairo Cycle team has also cooperated with large companies and organized major sporting events for them, including CIB Bank, Decathlon, Etisalat Misr, the British University in Cairo, the American University in Cairo, and other companies.

Captain Hussien Gamal's leadership and dedication to the sport of cycling have not gone unnoticed. He has given press interviews with The Economist magazine and other Egyptian magazines, as well as made a full TV interview with the Egyptian TV.

Recently, Captain Hussien Gamal and the Cairo Cycle team have gained international recognition as a group from the University of Berlin in Germany came to Egypt to work on a project about Hussien Gamal and the CairoCycle team.

Beyond their success in racing and promoting cycling, the Cairo Cycle Team is also involved in community service and charitable work. The team has organized bike rides to raise awareness of important social issues, such as environmental conservation, and has participated in fundraising events for local charities.
